Vulture Rigging: WIP #1

A Coffee Shop Creeper

Hullo Thar!

My blogs continue to go unloved...but I'll keep trying anyway. Mhmmm this doesn't say much for improvement, but here's the most recent creeper chronicles. They actually look quite similar from the ones I uploaded two years ago...but umm at least I did them faster? I'll have to finish reading my anatomy/figure drawing books one day as I keep practicing. Since, I have a temporary break from job hunting I can relax a little and have some fun. Without further ado Creeper Chronicles III: A Coffee Shop Quick Draw!

A San Francisco White Christmas

Hey Guys!

So, Facebook is now rolling out their new timeline thing. I don't know if it will face the same amount of rage every time Facebook changes, but I sort of like it. It took some getting used to, but it's an interesting concept--plus you can have a cover.

I went to go add a cover to my Facebook, and originally I was going to put concept art from UP (since I used that as my desktop BG), however; Facebook warned me it shouldn't be from copyrighted material..blah blah legal stuff. So, for once I decided to follow this guideline and was inspired to make a Christmas themed cover photo. Now I've been listening to Christmas Music almost non-stop for the last couple of weeks, and I just read a letter about how cool a "White Christmas" is. Well growing up in San Francisco I never got to experience a white Christmas, so I decided to paint one!

I'm still playing around with digital painting (it's half photo and half painting), but I'm really happy with how this turned out. I may have made it a little too stormy looking, but I think this is the best digital painting I've ever done...so I'm still pretty psyched about it! Photoshop is really fun to play with! I can't keep waiting to experiment further!!

I played around with some python at work the other day, and learned how to make a folder (or in programming language a directory)

So I found an elephant rig, and I've always wished elephants could jump without shattering all their bones.

Reel Intro!

Hello to my fourteen loyal followers, and anyone who got here through the random next blog feature.

The rest of you don't get any salutations!!!!!!! Just Kidding. Seriously thanks for visiting my blog.

Ok, so i've been playing with animating and here's an intro to my future rigging reel. I've noticed that a lot of reels have a quick creative opening now, and as I was playing with a deck of cards, and I thought of this idea. I don't know if it's too flashy (like so a text flare), but I thought it was cute. I have a decent list that I want to accomplish, though I anticipate it taking a little longer than expected. So hopefully my sophomore wish will come true and I can work at a real fancy studio while playing with animation related stuffs...after all I have a real strange love for Microsoft Excel and movie budget spreadsheets (I'm just really fascinated with Microsoft Excel...functions!)

Also that business card will end up having a texture with my own logo, and my actual contact info.

From Thesis Still to One Art One Love ("finished film")

Hi!

Six months ago, no wait five months ago I had a thesis still with some lighting tests. Now I have a "finished film". Holy Crap.

At my screening my professor Jose Garcia Moreno had said You can either love animation, hate animation, or have a love hate relationship with animation. I definitely have a love hate relationship. but at least its more like an 80 20 (love, hate respectively) relationship. Animation is just this magical wonderful thing that no matter how many hours you sacrifice it mildly pays you back, and just brings a smile to my face knowing that A. I made this out of nothing and B. This could potentially entertain someone if not for just one second. Awesome Pants. I could be more a little more articulate but it is 1:25am, and ever since I finished my thesis staying up this late hasn't happened. In any case I thought to update my blog with my "finished film". That last part is in quotes cause the whole movie was animated in a month. I'd like to go back throughout the summer and fix every scene plus add sound effects (there's a story behind that, but i'll spare you the details unless you ask ;).

Creeper Chronicles!!!!!!

I didn't too often this year since i also needed to pay attention from time to time. what else: I STARTED WORK TODAY...yay....let's just say customer service jobs: good people studies. I wish i could sit in the corner grab harry potter's invisibility cloak get my sketchbook, and GO TO TOWN. However sadly i must help customers, check in movies, put movies back on the shelves blah blah blah. If anything customer service jobs motivate me to succeed at school, and one day get a job in animation. I CAN"T WAIT...but i understand it'll take some good timing, luck, and hard work.

Anyway: that to do list is not getting done. I got like 6 out 50 panels that i like, but i keep diverging and doing other things. I feel unmotivated. Same with the logos...Though i'm sure part of it is cause i'm still trying to get an internship somewhere so cover letters and applications awaaayyyyy (which are rather draining and depressing to do...) At the same time i'm watching LOST...lol season 2 episode 9 ole!!
